The Histology Technician is part of the pathology team. The Histology Technician will be responsible for accessioning, embedding, microtomy, routine H&E, manual special staining, basic maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment. A high standard of quality and ability to follow procedures and policies is required. Strong communication skills and teamwork are essential.

Starting Pay Range:
• $30 – $40 per hour
Duties:
1. Process Tissue
• Perform routine processing
• Microtomy
• Embedding
• Complete routine Hematoxylin and eosin stain and manual special stains
• Accessioning
• Cut control blocks
• File slides and blocks
2. Follow lab policies and procedures
3. Adhere to safety and hazardous waste guidelines
4. Maintain quality control
5. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of lab equipment
6. Ensure all records (maintenance, temperature, quality control) are properly maintained
Minimum Requirements:
• Associate’s Degree
• HT (ASCP) and/or HTL (ASCP) certification
• 1 year experience in histology lab
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to use laboratory database systems (AP Easy)
Schedule: Monday – Friday; 7 – 11 am
