Allison Crandall, 2015 Mrs. Minnesota US, visited Dr. Tina Shaffer at our Eagan office recently for a skin consultation and mentioned a troubling mole on her upper thigh. Allison’s lesion was biopsied and diagnosed as melanoma stage 0. As a way to spread awareness to others about the importance of skin screening, Allison allowed Fox9 news to film her surgery. Fox9’s Paul Blume spoke to both Allison and Dr. Joe Shaffer, who performed the surgery. Good news – Allison’s lab reports came back 100% clear. We’re grateful to Allison and Fox9 for helping us spread the word about the prevention and treatment of this potentially deadly skin cancer.
