Squamous Cell Carcinoma is the second most common type of skin cancer; it comes from the upper part of the top layer of skin. They are strongly related to sun exposure and often occur on the face, hands and lower legs. The usual presentation is as a growing, tender, scaly, red area. There are many treatments available but on the face Mohs Surgery is often used. There is a chance that these can spread from the skin to other parts of the body but this is still not common.
